TODAY, WE WELCOME ALISSON JEAN MCMILLAN INTO THE FAMILY OF GOD THROUGH THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY BAPTISM
L: In holy baptism, God frees us from sin and death by uniting us to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through water and the Holy Spirit we are reborn children of God, we are made members of the church, the body of Christ, and we are commissioned for Christ’s ministry of justice and peace.
Do you bring your child to this Sacrament to join us in this life of grace?

We present Allison for baptism.
We will assume the gifts and responsibilities
with which we have been entrusted:
We will live with (her) among God’s
faithful people, We will bring Allison to the Word of God and the holy supper,
We will nurture (her) in faith and prayer,
so that all of us may learn to trust God,
Proclaim Christ through word and deed,
care for others and the world God made,
And work for justice and peace among all people.
L: People of God, do you promises to support these individuals and pray for them their new life in
Christ?

L: I ask you to reject sin, profess your faith in Christ, and confess the faith of the church. Do you renounce the devil and all the forces that defy God?

L: With the whole church, let us confess our faith.

L: Allison, may the Lord fill you with the gift of the Holy Spirit. Stir up in each of us, O Lord, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge, the spirit of joy in your presence, and the fear of the Lord both now and forever.
