Baptism is the first of the two sacraments in the Christian life.
Both sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion were begun by our Lord Jesus.
The both have physical elements: water with Baptism, and wine and bread for Holy Communion.
Lutheran Christian as part of the historical Christian church practice infant (child) baptism. We can certainly baptize anyone at any time in their life. But God welcomes the child into the family, not just adults.
In the waters of our baptism: we receive forgiveness of sin, the promise of eternal life, and adoption as God's own children. Pastor Don meets with all families prior to baptisms to share a notebook he has prepared with information of Baptism and walk through the service.
