Deepen Your Faith At Our Catechism Class

You can expand your understanding of our faith when you join one of our ministries at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Port Huron, Michigan. Adults may join us in our catechism class, where we will memorize a Bible verse and reflect on our discussions from that week.

What Is Catechism?

According to the 1993 Confirmation Ministry Taskforce Report, ELCA, "Confirmation ministry is a pastoral and education ministry of the church that helps the baptized through Word and Sacrament to identify more deeply with the Christian community and participate more fully in its mission."

Catechism: Confirmation Educational Ministry

Each week we review a Bible verse to memorize. Pastor Charlie goes over the large group theme. Then we will have a small group discussion and reflection with mentors and regroup for final remarks, homework, and closing prayer in our prayer circle.

Youth Ministry

We encourage youth participation and welcome families into our church body. For younger children, we have youth quiet bags and children's sermons.

First Communion

We offer First Communion instruction for youth age 6 and above with parent participation in the classes with Pastor Charlie.

Offer a smile, introduce yourself to those you do not know.

BUILDING, GROUNDS, PROPERTIES
Take care of flower beds on the property
All types of talents, skills, general laborers, always needed - check for tasks with your availability
Bring in supplies for a coffee hour, make sure fridge is emptied, counters cleared, coffee pot emptied and turned off
Classrooms, sanctuary, parlor, any room, tables clear, wipe as needed
Discard old bulletins found in hymnals, and pews.
